Finding the Qualified Charity that Speaks to You!

Been there. Received an email from my CPA suggesting we take advantage of the Arizona Tax Credits for Qualified Charitable (QCOs) and Qualified Foster Charitable Organizations (OFCOs). The email includes a web link to select a charity from lists available on the AZ Department of Revenue’s website. These PDF lists provide a charity code number, name, and address for over a 1000 charities! To figure out what each charity’s mission is or what they provide and to whom, is a very timely process. This web site is about making it easier to research qualified charities!
Why Qualified Charities?
Qualified charities have been certified by the AZ Dept of Revenue to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit to a maximum allowable limit. We live in a state that is letting taxpayers “redirect” a portion of taxes owed (effectively) to charities doing good things. Everyone paying AZ taxes should consider doing this! (please talk to your tax advisor about it)
Other About Information and a Disclaimer…
Just for absolute clarity, this web site is not part of the AZ Dept of Revenue. We are a small group of folks assembling online information as free service to all. We hope the interactive experience empowers Arizona taxpayers to contribute to qualified charities and take advantage of the opportunity our state is providing to receive a tax credit for doing so.

Qualified Charity Listing Explained
The AZ Dept of Revenue QCO and QFCO published lists denote the charity name and address.
Our goal was to provide more.
  • Online web link (if available and functional) to that charities content
  • A way to filter by city (extracted from the list charity address)
  • A preview and searchable filter attributes to give a sense of what the charity provides, for whom, and what is being impacted based on our review of the online information available
Charities are in the business of having an impact on people’s lives. They aren’t in the business of having websites or keeping current with technology changes. If a charity doesn’t have a website or if it isn’t functional – it does NOT imply they aren’t a great charity to consider. But this does mean there wasn’t online content for us to review, and as indicated by “[Not Avail]”.
QCO and QFCO list updates
The AZ Dept of Revenue updates the QCOs and QFCOs periodically. To verify if we are in sync, compare our update date to the update date listed by the AZ Dept of Revenue (which is in the lower left bottom of each page).

We recommend that once you have selected QCOs and QFCOs to donate to, click on the “Download from AZ Dept Revenue link” and check against the official AZ Dept of Revenue lists just to make sure those charities still qualify.
